Mission & Vision

Steel City Biofuels is a non-profit organization dedicated to building the awareness, policy, technology and infrastructure necessary for the sustainable and widespread production and use of biofuels in South Western Pennsylvania.

Steel City Biofuels’ vision is for the Region to become a National leader in the biofuels industry through increased support for research and development of advanced feedstock, production and vehicle technologies, significant public and private investments in production distribution infrastructure, and the development of aggressive State and local legislation supporting the production and use of biofuels.

We pursue this mission through innovative educational programs, demonstration projects, collaborative research, and non-partisan advocacy.

Steel City Biofuels is making the transition to become a part of Penn State University. We will keep you appraised of the restructuring, new opportunities and services that result from the merger as they happen.
